How is dna collection performed?

This simple and easy collection process uses a cheek swab, which is similar to a large Q-tip, and is gently rubbed inside the mouth along the lining of the jaw.

Do I need a prescription for a DNA test?

In the state of New York, the doctor does not have to physically see the tested parties in order to issue the prescription, but one is required. The prescription needs to include the first and last name of the parties as well as their Dates of birth. It also needs to list who the results can be released to.
